Your ICHOM update delivered to your inbox

From Dr Neil Bacon, President and CEO, ICHOM: I'd like to personally welcome you to the new ICHOM newsletter. The last year has seen a lot of change and progress in ICHOM, all aimed at better supporting our friends and colleagues in the global outcomes community.
This monthly newsletter is just one way by which myself and the new ICHOM team will be updating you on progress and innovations including Spotlight on Standard Sets, Conferences Corner, our Online Community and our podcast series: Healthcare Futures.

Spotlight on Standard Sets

This month we will be discussing two of our nine standard sets in progress: Anxiety, Depression, OCD and PTSD in children and young people and Overall adult health.
Anxiety, Depression, OCD and PTSD in children and young people - feedback opportunity

It has been a busy year as ICHOM kicked off four mental health Standard Sets in 2018-19. We are pleased to announce that the first of these, ‘Depression & Anxiety in Children and Young People’ is now at the open review stage. We are seeking the views of professionals active in the field to feed back on the first draft of the Standard Set - the outcomes, measures, and timepoints included - to help make this recommendation as strong as possible. Please consider sharing your views with us and disseminating this survey with interested colleagues! bit.ly/2Yf832T For any queries about this work, please contact s.chung@ichom.org.

Overall Adult Health
We have formed a Working Group to identify a minimum set of measures to be implemented in clinical practice for the care of adult patients regardless of any specific condition or diagnosis. We’re excited to announce that the Outcome Validation Survey for this work has been opened. If you’re interested in influencing better quality care for patients, please provide us with your feedback!
We are seeking feedback from adult patients on the relevance and acceptability of a draft minimum set of health care measures. Participate in the @ICHOM

Online Community
This year we will be creating our online community. This will be a platform for global users and partners to meet each other, compare outcomes on standard sets and share improvement stories on topics such as PROMs measurement, outcome analytics and data/outcomes visualisation. Watch this space!
Podcasts
This Autumn will see the introduction of our new podcast series: Health Futures. Our CEO and President Dr Neil Bacon will be talking with global healthcare leaders discussing the importance of outcomes measurement in future healthcare.

Other ICHOM developments:
Recent news from the Dutch government and ICHOM data exchange models

Mona Khalid, VP of Outcomes Research & Development at ICHOM was invited to discuss measuring, capturing and exchanging outcomes in healthcare during Bruno Bruins, Dutch Minister of Health recent visit to Boston. In Minister Bruins’ session he reaffirmed the ongoing partnerships between ICHOM and the Ministerie van Volksgezondheid, Welzijn en Sport, Intermountain Healthcare and Boston Consulting Group to harmonise ICHOM data exchange models.
The government’s goal is to have outcome indicators available for 50% of the disease burden within five years but without administrative burden. This means that patients and physicians will be able to make shared decisions about the right treatment.
Examples of how ICHOM are developing data exchange models are shown in the image opposite.
